Early Life and Career
Chennedy Carter, born November 14, 1998, is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Carter began her basketball career at Mansfield High School in Mansfield, Texas, where she was named an All-American in her first three years.
Collegiate Success
After high school, Carter attended Texas A&M University, where she continued to excel on the court. She became the first Aggie in program history to be named an All-American for three consecutive years. Carter's impressive collegiate performance culminated in her being selected with the 4th overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft by the Atlanta Dream.
WNBA Career
Carter made an immediate impact in the WNBA, averaging 14.1 points per game in her rookie season with the Dream. She was later traded to the Chicago Sky, where she continues to showcase her exceptional skills as a guard.
International Recognition
In addition to her success in the WNBA, Carter has also represented the United States on the international stage. She won a gold medal with the U-19 team at the 2017 FIBA World Cup and a bronze medal with the U-18 team at the 2016 FIBA Americas Championship.
