Lakers' Fourth-Quarter Rally Falls Short in Game 3 Loss

Nuggets Move Within One Win of Sweep

The Denver Nuggets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 114-106 on Saturday night in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals. The Nuggets now hold a commanding 3-0 series lead and are just one win away from sweeping the Lakers.

Neither Nikola Jokic nor Jamal Murray had their best nights for the Nuggets. Jokic was in foul trouble for much of the game and finished with just 16 points and 10 rebounds. Murray cooled off after a hot start and finished with 21 points.

However, the Nuggets got a big effort from their bench. Michael Porter Jr. had 21 points, Jerami Grant added 18, and Mason Plumlee chipped in with 12.

The Lakers made a late push in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough. LeBron James led the way with 30 points, while Anthony Davis added 27. However, the Lakers couldn't overcome a poor shooting night from beyond the arc (15.4%).

The Lakers now face an uphill battle to avoid a sweep. They will need to win Game 4 on Monday night at home just to extend the series.
