What is CHOGM?

The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) is a biennial summit of the Heads of Government of the 56 member states of the Commonwealth of Nations.

CHOGM was first held in 1971 and is hosted by a different member state each time.

The meeting is an opportunity for leaders to discuss global issues, share best practices, and collaborate on common challenges.

Who attends CHOGM?

CHOGM is attended by the Heads of Government of all 56 member states of the Commonwealth.

These include the Prime Ministers, Presidents, and other heads of state or government.

In addition, the meeting is also attended by senior government officials, representatives of international organizations, and civil society groups.

What is the purpose of CHOGM?

The purpose of CHOGM is to provide a platform for leaders to discuss global issues and share best practices.

The next CHOGM will be held in Rwanda in 2022.

This will be the first time that CHOGM has been held in Rwanda.
