Preventing Salmonella Infection

You can help prevent salmonella infection by:

  • Washing fruits and vegetables before eating them
  • Cooking meat to the proper temperature
  • Avoiding raw or undercooked eggs
  • Not eating food that has been left out at room temperature for more than two hours

The CDC is recommending that people avoid eating cucumbers that were grown in Mexico. If you have cucumbers from Mexico, you should throw them away.
